Scrip is "substitute money," and looks and functions just like gift cards and certificates. The program allows non-profit organizations, such as Guardian Angel - St. Boniface School, to purchase scrip at a discount for everyday expenses like food, clothing, and entertainment. When GASB sells the scrip cards at face value, they earn back, as revenue, a percentage of each dollar of scrip purchased.
